Flooding Open House May 13
The City is
hosting an Open House meeting on Monday May 13th, from 6 pm to 7 pm
in the Council Chambers at City Hall to discuss the flooding which has occurred
in your neighbor-hood in the past, steps the City has taken since then, and
several possible alternatives to help reduce the flooding in your
neighborhood.
There are
several possible solutions the City is currently pursuing including large infra-structure
improvements down local streets to Salt Creek, increase pumping capabilities at
the creek, providing local detention facilities or any combination of all
three.
At this
meeting, which is an open house format, staff and engineers from the consulting
firm which completed the study will be on hand to meet with people one on one
and answer your questions.
Additionally,
as you may be aware, the City has recently purchased three properties that may
be used in the future for local stormwater detention to help lessen the impacts
of flooding. We are continuing to pursue
several additional properties in your neighborhood. If you are interested in selling your
property to the City, we ask that you send a letter to the City Manager
expressing your desire to do so. This
request will be kept confidential.
